You can open gates by completing improtant requests, increasing your Trainer Rank, and filling up your Pokedex in Pokemon Pokopia. Read on to learn how to open all gates, including the obstructed gate, as well as the location of all gates, and which gates you should open first.

Each gate might lead to new areas that you can explore, new features to unlock, as well as new items to obtain!
Remove Obstructions to Open
The gate that takes you from Sparkling Skylands to Withering Wasteland will be covered by blocks the first time you find it. You will have to remove these using Rock Smash in order to use the gate.
Keep in mind that you can only open this gate once you reach Master Rank.
Gates May Be Hidden By Blocks
The gate that requires you to complete your Pokedex is hidden underground. Use the Neo-Dowsing Machine to locate it and destroy the blocks keeping it hidden.
Keep in mind that you will only be able to open this gate after completing the Pokedex.

Ultimately, the choice of which gate to open will be based on gameplay preference.
Regardless of whether you choose to go to Bleak Beach or Rocky Ridges, you can still explore and develop the area that you did not choose first. You can progress the storylines of each area simultaneously without any consequences.
