Rock Smash is a move that allows you to destroy blocks and add them to your inventory in Pokemon Pokopia. Check out the effects of Rock Smash, how to use this move, and how to learn Rock Smash.

Rock Smash allows you to destroy rock and ground blocks in the environment, which can then be added to your inventory.
This allows you to clear pathways, create tunnels, move blocks, get resources, and obtain hidden items.

Hitmonchan is the Pokemon that teaches you Rock Smash. To get Hitmonchan to spawn on your island, you must create an exercise resting spot habitat.
This requires you to place a punching bag beside any seat. Hitmonchan should appear after a while, testing out the punching bag.
Habitat Dex: How to Build Every Type of Habitat

After Hitmonchan appears in its habitat, it will have a request for you, requiring you to give it two stones. Complete this request, and Hitmonchan will teach you Rock Smash.

Make sure you have Rock Smash as your active move, which should be visible on the bottom right section of your screen. With Rock Smash as your active move, the block or blocks at the center of your screen will be highlighted.
Press ZR on your controller in order to punch the highlighted area. Some blocks may require several punches before they get destroyed, so you can hold ZR to destroy these or to continuously destroy blocks in an area.

You can adjust which blocks are at the center of your screen by moving the game camera around using the Right Stick. This allows you to aim your punches, so that you can break blocks above or below where your character is.
