How to Use the Smelting Furnace
You will need to place ore in the Smelting Furnace and get a Pokemon to light it up in Pokemon Pokopia. See how to use the Smelting Furnace and how to unlock it here!

How to Use The Smelting Furnace

How to Smelt

Place material in the furnace. Keep in mind that you cannot place more than one type of material at a time.

Bring a Pokemon with the Burn specialty to the Furnace

Wait for the material to process, then pick it up from the furnace once done. You will know there are materials to be collected when there are sparkles in the furnace.

To use the Smelting Furnace, all you have to do is place materials in the furnace, then bring a Pokemon with the Burn Specialty close to it. You will need to wait a bit for the it to process, but once it's done, you will get the processed product.

Place the Smelting Furnace Within Range of a Pokemon With Burn

Consider placing the Smelting Furnace within the house or habitat of a Pokemon with Burn. This way, they can automically smelt whenever they're home.

Use Smelting Furnace
Smelting Furnaces help you process ore into ingots. With ingots, you will be able to craft a wider range of furniture, tools, and buildings.

How to Unlock The Smelting Furnace

How to Find The Smelting Furnace

Accept Machoke's Request, Cut Down That Fence.

Head to the cave to the left of the Pokemon Center.

Follow Machoke inside until you reach a metal fence.

Eat Bread, then use your powered-up Cut to remove the fence.

Head further in until you reach the clearing with the Work Bench. To the left, against the wall, is the Smelting Furnace

Removing the metal fence is a part of the Cut Down That Fence request which you get from Machoke after freeing Chef Dente and learning how to make food.

In order to make bread, you will need to complete the Make Bread request in Rocky Ridge. This request is a part of a larger quest where you need to free Chef Dente from the barrel they are trapped in.

Create a Habitat For Magmar

Digging and Burning Habitat
You will need a Fire Pokemon to use the Smelting Furnace, and the best candiate for that would be Magmar since you could easily make its habitat out of the surrounding materials.

To make Magmar's Habitat, you will need to put a Wheelbarrow and Excavation Tools next to the Smelting Furnace in at least a 2x2 space.
