Speak to Squirtle about a new path leading to the beach. Follow it alongside Squirtle until a cutscene plays.

Objective 2
Squirtle will point out a cave in the western part of the map, but will be too scared to go in, leaving the task of exploring it to you

Objective 3
Proceed inside until you hear someone calling for help.

Objective 4
Look to the left of the entrance to find more rocks you can break. Do so to find Onix trapped inside.

Objective 5
Speak to Onix to learn that the soil around them has hardened, and his body is still a bit too weak after napping for so long.

Objective 6
Rush to Professor Tangrowth to inform him of the situation, though this will instead force you to start the "To the other side of the wall" request.
