How to Build and Place Roofs
Use Slanted Roof Tiles
The Slanted Roof Tiles can be put in place like any block. You can modify the height and angle while holding the ZL button and moving alongside for simpler installation.
Use a Ladder or Any Scaffolding
Since roof tiles are usually done in high places, it's recommended to build ladders to aid you. Alternatively, you can make makeshift scaffolding with any block to elevate yourself.

How to Get Roofs
Obtain from Destroyed Building or Dream Island
Roof tiles can be picked up through the destroyed houses that you can find in most areas by pressing Y! Similarly, you can talk to Drifloon for it to transport you to Dream Island, where you may roof and several other materials!

Craft from the Workbench
Roofs can be crafted using the Workbench. You can grab roof recipes in the Pokemon Center shop when you level up your Environment level to 5!

Build with Blocks
Alternatively, you can manually build a roof with blocks. In order to acquire blocks, you can either destroy them using Rock Smash to pick them up or craft them in the workbench.

Types of Roofing
Roof Tiles That Can Be Crafted
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Hipped Roof |  Used for corners. |
| Roof Decoration |  Placed on top of the roof. |
| Roof Valley |  Used to split the roof. |
| Flat Roof |  Used to flatten the roof. |
| Sloped Roof |  Form a triangular roof. |
These roof tiles can be crafted in the workbench. They can be purchased in the PC Shop once you have reached Environment Level 5.

How to Raise Environment Level
What Roofs Are For
For Darker Habitats
Certain Pokemon need a perfect setting for their habitat in order to enhance their comfort level. Pokemon that prefer a dark habitat will benefit from having a house with a roof.
You can check the Pokemon's Pokedex entry to determine what its ideal habitat is.
Protect Pokemon From the Elements
Similarly, some Pokemon require warm habitats that can be satisfied by placing fire around them. However, it is susceptible from being extinguished by the rain, and to prevent this from happening, build a house with a roof to shade the fire.
