How to Get Iron Ore
Use Rock Smash on Metal Objects
Iron ore can be obtained by using Rock Smash on metal objects like iron blocks and broken streetlamps.
Give Nonburnable Garbage to Recycle Pokemon
After befriending a Pokemon with the Recycle specialty, you can hand them nonburnable garbage to make iron ore. Processing items take a bit of time so you will have to speak to the Pokemon again later to claim your materials.

Rebuild Pokemon Centers
Rebuilding some Pokemon Centers require iron ore. The one in Bleak Beach requires 5 iron ore to be rebuilt.
