Farming Plants and Crops Guide

Build Loamy Soil or Planter Boxes In Build Mode

Once Human - Empty Planter Box

To begin farming, you'll first need to craft either Loamy Soil or Planter Boxes that will be used for planting seeds for crops.

Each can hold one seed at maximum, so you might need to craft multiple if you are planting seeds in large amounts.

Plant Seeds in the Soil

Once Human - Corn Seeds Description

Next, hover over your Loamy Soil or Planter Box and press F to plant a seed. Select which seed you want to plant, then select if you want to add fertilizer to it. Once done, press F again to plant the seed.

Give the Seed Light and Water

Once Human - Growing Plant Needs

Afterwards, you will need to provide it with water and light.

It is recommended to keep the indicators for Irrigation and Lighting in the blue portion of the bar to achieve an optimal environment for the crops to grow.

Recommendations for Water and Light

The best way to water a plant is by using Boiled or Pure water, as using Dirty, Polluted, or Sea Water will negatively affect the growing plant.

Natural light from the sun will count for the plant's needs, so you should put your plants in an open area with a lot of sunlight to help them grow better.

If you want to build your farm indoors, you'll need to create Grow Lights to give light to your plants. Its formula can be unlocked from the memetics screen as well for 7 meme points and 2,000 energy links.

Wait for the Plant to Grow

Once Human - Crop Growth Period

Crops will enter two phases: the Germination phase and the Growing phase. After the crop finishes the Growing phase, it will be ready for harvest.

Harvesting a plant gives players the crop, as well as seeds to plant another one of its kind.

How to Get Seeds For Farming

Buy From NPCs or Gather Crops in the Overworld

Seeds can be found while exploring the overworld, but can also be bought from some NPCs, and picked up from harvested crops and plants.
