After getting the Specialization, you can craft a Rare Crystal Set in an Electric Furnace. To make the item, you need a certain amount of either Platinum, Beryllium, Vanadium, or Iridium Crystals which you can get in the wild or craft if you have the Crystal Transformation Specialization.
How to Use Rare Crystal Set
Sold to Merchants for Energy Links
Rare Crystal Sets can be sold to Merchants for 12,000 Energy Links each, netting you a large amount of Energy Links to work with. You can sell items at a Merchant by switching to the Sell tab at the top of the screen when interacting with them.
How to Get Rare Crystal Set Memetic Specialization
Choose as Specialization at Level 40, 45, or 50
Crystal Transformation is a Memetic Specialization you can get late in the game, and is one of the possible Specialization choices once you reach Level 40, 45, or 50.
Do note that the Memetic Specializations you choose from every five levels are random, so you are not guaranteed to get Crystal Transformation once you reach those levels.
You can use a Specialization Cleaner to reset a Memetic Specialization node and choose a new one if you didn't get this Specialization, but it is still not guaranteed that one of the new selections will be Crystal Transformation.

The Rare Crystal Set Specialization allows you to craft a Rare Crystal Set. This item can be sold to vendors for a lot of Energy Links, so it is useful to get, especially during the late game which is when this Specialization can be obtained.
If you get this Specialization as one of your choices when selecting a new one, it is highly advised that you get it, as you'll have an easier time farming Energy Links.
