How to Mine Cold Crystal Ore and Best Farming Location

Craft a Steel Pickaxe
Cold Crystal Ores can only be mined with at least a Steel Pickaxe, which is the highest tier of pickaxes in the first phase of Way of Winter.
Prepare a Molotov Cocktail and Healing Items
Getting close to a Cold Crystal Ore deposit will quickly lower your temperature and even damage you if you're next to it. You also won't be able to mine it normally in its original state, so you have to find another way to do it.
The "other way" is setting the ore deposit on fire using Molotov Cocktails—throwables you can loot randomly from settlements or crafted in a Synthesis Bench—to make it breakable, but burning the air around it in exchange.
As you'll be mining the Cold Crystal Ores under extremely high temperatures, be sure to take a few Activators with you.
Mine the Ore Deposit from the Opposite Side
You can minimize the damage you take from the Molotov by mining on the side that isn't on fire. This means that if you threw the Molotov directly in front of the Cold Crystal Ore deposit, go around it first and mine it from behind.
Throw a Molotov at the Cold Crystal Ore Deposit
After finding a Cold Crystal Ore deposit, ready your Steel Pickaxe then throw a Molotov Cocktail where the deposit is. Quickly run to the deposit while it's burning, mine it until it breaks, and roll away as soon as you can.
Best Cold Crystal Ore Farming Location
Sea of Floating Ice - Onyx Tundra
The best farming location for Cold Crystal Ores is on the island north of Onyx Tundra, the Sea of Floating Ice. You'll find an open area on the east side teeming with ore deposits, with a higher chance of spawning Cold Crystal Ores.
Whalebone Cape - Vena Fjord
Another good farming spot for Cold Crystal Ores is on Whalebone Cape, the western edge of Vena Fjord. However, the ore deposit areas here are a few hundred meters apart and have a smaller apperance rate for Cold Crystal Ores than the one in Onyx Tundra.
