Gear Components

Gear Components are used to craft weapons and armor. Each component is further divided into 5 tiers of increasing damage and efficiency. Some higher-tier components require unlocking new memetics and workbench upgrades for intermediate and advanced components.

How to Get Resources and Materials

Obtain from the Wild

Most raw materials, like Logs, Gravels, and Ores, are easily found in the wild. Use you Pickaxe to gather these resources from trees and boulders scattered around the map.

Disassemble Junk into Materials

Some raw materials are also obtainable after recycling scrap junk that you can find inside buildings in the map.

You can use the Disassembly Bench to recycle junk you've looted around the map into materials which you can use to craft items, weapons, and armor.

Craft with Facilities

Several materials, especially those that are needed to make higher tier of weapons and armor, need to be crafted using other materials at facilities like Furnaces, Supplies Workbenches, and Synthesis Benches.

You can build these facilities in your base after unlocking them in the Memetics menu.

How to Use Resources and Materials

Craft Items and Gear

Most of the resources and materials that you'll hoard will eventually be made into various items and gear that you will need to survive in Once Human.

Some resources will act as raw materials that you need to craft into another before you can make items, weapons or armor, so it can be useful to keep looting so you can have a steady supply of materials.

Build Facilities in Your Base

You will also need certain materials before you can build facilities in your base. 

These facilities, which can range from workbenches, furnaces, storage, and the like, will be useful to prolong your survival in the game.

Prepare Dishes

You can also gather food items in Once Human, which you can cook into dishes that will fill up your hunger and thirst meter.

Facilities like the Stove will allow you to make a wide variety of food items, which you can store in a Fridge to prolong their shelf life.

Sell Materials to Other Players

Once Human has a nifty selling mechanic which allows you to sell items to other players in the game in exchange of Energy Links or other items.

You can sell items with the Vending Machine facility, which can be unlocked by getting the Memetic.
