Fireproof Plastics are mainly obtained by raiding Lv. 20 - 30 settlements and hamlets as well, which can be found in the southern half of the Vena Fjord subregion. They can be looted from storages like cabinets and crates along with other items.
The parts of Vena Fjord where these areas are found are very cold, so make sure to have enough Cold Resist before heading out. A Cold Resist stat of at least 30 (from gear, food, and Heatium combined) should suffice.
Don't ignore the scraps that you find everywhere while in Lv. 20 - 30 areas! You can take these back to your base later on and process them through the Disassembly Bench to randomly get Fireproof Plastics.
Fireproof Plastics can be used to construct midgame Facilities like the Intermediate Gear Workbench.
Once you have the Intermediate Gear Workbench, you can now use the Fireproof Plastics as one of the materials to craft Tier 3 and Tier 4 Weapons and Gear!
