Fix by Joining a New Server

Currently, the only fix for the issue of full servers is to select another server, and to create a new character on these less populated servers instead. These servers tend to be the newly created ones, and are early into the Season.

Bypass by Using Server Invitations

The 1.1 Update added special invitation codes for players to make use of when their servers are full. These codes are found on the Player Info screen, and can be used to invite friends to a full server.

Note that there is a limit of 5 invites per character, and that players might still not be able to join once the server has hit its absolute limit.

Server Has Hit the Registration Limit

Servers become full once enough players have registered in a server. There are multiple Worlds to fill in a server before this happens, but once the limit has been hit, new players cannot join the server.

Attempting to join a full server will result in an error, and display the message “Server full. Please select another one.”, prompting players to choose from more open servers.

While solo new players may not have difficulty finding news servers, issues arise for players who want to join their friends on full servers.

The 1.1 Update added in special invitation codes that players can make use of to join their friends' full servers, but players will need to be quick as there is a possibility of being locked out of a server once it hits its absolute limit.

Server Full But Low Population

Servers display an indicator for players registered on the server alongside a Population metric. Some servers can be full registration wise, but Low Population.

This is because the Population metric does not reflect the amount of players who signed onto that server, and so servers can reach the registered player limit regardless of the Population displayed.
