1. Choose Between Chef or Gardener Class
You can choose between Chef or Gardener in the Deviation SCP scenario. You can also choose to be a Free Person if you can't decide which class you want yet.
Chef will have a good advantage over combat because of food buffs as the Metas are part of the battle, even against Gyms and other Metas. Gardener will have an upper hand on the resources once they set up their greenhouse.

Beastmaster is not available for this scenario. It might be due to the number of units you can control in the game, as it wouldn't be fair if you can control more.
2. Starting Area Doesn't Matter
You can choose anywhere you want when entering the world. It won't make any difference as you will still end up in the Verdant Arena for the main quest.

You can follow the main quest and talk to Lowe about the deviations. He will let you choose between three deviations above.
The best one to choose out of three is Dr. Teddy as you won't be able to get any devations that can heal, which is essential for Gym Battles and battles against Metas.

4. Obtain Territory Deviations
Once you're done getting your first Deviation, you can start going for the territory deviations like Logging Beaver, The Digby Boy, and Fetch-A-Lot Bunny. They will help you gather resources so you can build a better base.
You can gather all of them in the Verdant Arena and the surrounding strongholds.
5. Set Up Your Base
Follow the main quest a bit more until you get your Motorcycle so you can easily travel across the map. After that, try to set up your base northeast from the Verdant Arena, close to the river. You will be close to a lot of ores, animals, water source, and deviants there.
You might find trees a bit lacking since it's a desert area, but it shouldn't be too much of a setback if you get multiple Logging Beavers.

6. Complete Journal Tasks
Complete Journal Tasks to unlock Memetics and get all of the necessary items in your playthrough. You should be able to get enough Cipher, but you will get less Energy Links, so be wise with what you unlock first!
You should prioritize getting the crafting benches, smelting, stoves and dishes, and the Binding Capsule to progress smoothly in this scenario.
7. Level Up Deviations
Once your base is set up, you can try to level up your deviations by fighting enemies around the map. You can do this while gathering resources in Strongholds to get two things done at once.
You can also use EXP Aggregators to level them up quickly. You can get EXP Aggregators via crafting, enemy drops, or (most efficiently) gathered by The Digby Boys, who regularly retrieve Exp Aggregators I–III for you.

8. Learn How Symbiosis Menu Works
Symbiosis is a new menu in Once Human's Deviation: Survive, Collect, Preserve scenario that acts as the central hub for your deviations, letting you deploy, manage, upgrade, and view them.
Use it to raise your Symbiosis Level (which boosts Capacity and Secure-O-Dex), register deviations, level up your roster, and configure auto-cast settings.
