---|
・Although the name might not sugest it, gamblers are gifted attackers.
・When their abilities hit the jackpot, they deal big damage, and they're not bad even when they don't. ・It's not unheard of people to take this job just to reap the benefits of All or Nothing. |

If you have a party that focuses on using abilities that uses up MP, the Gambler is one of the best Main Jobs to have! It's special abiltiy Jackpot can recover everyone's MP to full! And it only requires you to use Gaming 13 times!
The Gambler's abilities cost money which makes them an inefficient party member to fight with against normal enemies. However, High Roller and Flash the Cash are both strong abilities that can deal massive damage to their targets at the cost of PG (High Roller costs 10,000 PG and Flash the Cash depends on your character's level).
Rare monsters on the Overworld can be defeated but they do not guarantee rare drops. Increasing the chance of them dropping those strong but elusive items can ease your late game hunt!
Ability | Type | Cost | Level | Effect |

Night Shift | Support | 1 Slot | 8 | Non-roulette abilities with a chance of triggering extra effects are more likely to do so at night. |
Bold Gambit | Command | 777 pg | 9 | Spin a wheel featuring the numbers one to ten. Landing on ten will result in all allies or enemies earning three BP. |
Rare Talent | Support | 1 Slot | 10 | The likelihood of enemies dropping rare items increases by 10% for every party member with this ability. |

Unlucky Eight | Command | 800 pg | 15 | Spin the wheel and perform a physical attack that will be eight times more powerful if you land on number eight. |
It is worth leveling up a Gambler just for this ability alone. Drop rates are low in Bravely Default 2 so having extra rates for these rare items is a valuable thing for your journey.
Most of the Gambler's ability costs Pg, Spin the Wheel ensures that you'll always have Pg to spend and it only costs 1 BP! Have your 3 other fighters fend of enemies while you spam Spin the Wheel to generate an unlimited amount of money!
Pg Guide | How to Farm Money Quickly
Resurrection spells are always single target abilities. Life or Death is one of the exceptions but it comes with the risk of also knocking out the caster. However, if the caster is the only one left in the party, perhaps, getting knocked out is just a matter of time. Life or Death can give your party a second chance to recover from defeat!
A flat damage ability that is extremely helpful against durable opponents. It doesn't cost much and if you're farming pg efficiently, the cost should be non-existent. A highly recommended move against bosses!
One of the best abilities in the whole game. Dealer's Choice allows you to use a random effect and this effect varies from inflicting ailments, casting magic, to even multiplying JP or EXP earned after the battle! Beware though as it can fail and kill the Gambler or reduce your whole party's HP to 1!
Specialities | Effects |
---|---|
All or Nothing | Experience, JP or pg earned after battle will drop to zero, but one of these three amounts will also very occasionally be multiplied by 15. |
Born Lucky | Increases the number of winning slots in roulette abilities. Abilities with a chance of trigerring extra effects are also more likely to do so. |
Speciality 2 Can only be learned after leveling the Gambler to Level 12.

Below are the weapons proficiencies for the Gambler Job. Refer to this section to know which weapons are best suited for the Gambler Job.
Shirley is an optional boss fight you'll encounter in Savalon during Chapter 1. To best her, you'll need to win against her in B n D and in battle!
Dealer's Choice is a really fun move but due to its risk, spamming it without thinking may end up getting your team killed. With the Bastion's Sanctuary ability, you can negate this negative effect and start using Dealer's choice without fear! Beware though as this combo costs a lot of BP.
While this may come as a surprise, if you check the abilities of the Berserker, you'll find out that this is one of the most fun combinations in the game. The Berserker's Free for All support ability allows the character to use offensive abilities while Berserk for free. Free High Rollers? The disadvantage is Flash the Cash will deal zero damage because of the free Pg cost.
