During the early stages of the game, the Crystal will be communicating to Seth. Below are the possible events that can happen during the scene.

An Immediate Game Over

Bravely Default 2 Game Over

As the crystal implies, you have already died and through the crystal's power, Seth has been revived. By declining the Crystal's offer, Seth will die and the game will end.

Accepting the Light

Bravely Default 2 Crystal
Should you accpet the light, the game will continue as normal and you will obtain the power to use Special Abilities. These are super moves that deals massive damage and a buff to your party (normally).
