The node for this particular ability in the Illithid Powers skill tree can only be unlocked if the player chooses to consume the Astral-Touched Tadpole in the game.

You will be given an Astral-Touced Tadpole by the Emperor when you align yourself with him during a main story arc.

Absorb Intellect is a useful ability to help your character gradually heal in battle. The healing effect will only last for 5 turns, so make sure to activate it when opportunities for healing seem bleak.

Works Best Against Spellcasters

This ability is also recommended to be used against spellcasters, as Absorb Intellect lowers the Intelligence stat of your opponent by 1 for every turn in the battle.
