Go to Sharess' Caress and show Valeria the Bloodstained Parchment. Valeria is convinced that the case is closed and will point you to Davella if you wish to do something with your evidence.
Warp to the Basilisk Gate waypoint and proceed west until you find the Elfsong Tavern. Head upstairs and go straight inside the room to find Davella.
She will affirm that the Bhaal cult is behind the murders and will ask you to find the murderer.
The intended targets in the Bloodstained Parchment are marked on your map and warning them is optional. To advance the quest chain, you'll need to speak to Cora Highberry who is nearby participating in a wine festival.
Exit the Elfsong Tavern and head west to the wine festival. Get ready for a fight, then warn Cora immediately that she's being targeted, and her companion Dolor Meztli will reveal his true intentions. Should you choose to sample the wine, Dolor will kill Cora and you'll start the battle paralyzed.
Dolor Meztli will escape from the fight in the wine festival and will aim for his next target, Figaro Pennygood who is in Facemaker's Boutique, which is right across the Baldur's Gate waypoint.
Before heading inside, get ready for another battle to put an end to the serial killer once and for all. Loot Dolor's corpse and read the note to learn the password to enter Candulhallow's Tombstones. You'll also find a bag containing the hands of Dolor's victims, which you can use later should you want to become an Unholy Assassin.
The entrance to Candulhallow's Tombstones is northeast of the Elfsong Tavern. Interact with the painting in the farthest room to reveal a Cellar Door.
Interact with the cellar door, use the password you learned from Dolor's note, and proceed inside.
Proceed through the corridor until you find a door. Head inside and you'll find some guards. If you show them one of the hands from Dolor's victims, they will let you in without question.
Once you reach Sarevok, you'll be able to choose between killing him or becoming an Unholy Assassin. Whichever you choose will complete this side quest and you'll obtain the Amulet of Bhaal either way.
Sarevok is a tough boss as he's level 16, and backed up by his Echoes who grant him powerful buffs like Sanctuary and Haste among other things, but you'll be able to loot his powerful gear. If you choose to become an Unholy Assassin, you'll skip the fight against him.
It's possible to fight Sarevok alone, making it the easiest way to take him down. If you successfully deceive him to become an Unholy Assassin, he'll slowly walk from the throne room and into the abattoir in the next room. This is your chance to attack him without the help of his three Echoes.
You can cast Hold Person as he's walking and burst him down with critical hits. You'll still have to deal with the Echoes in the abattoir but they shouldn't pose much of a threat anymore.
While fighting Sarevok in the throne room or the abattoir is the intended way of going against him, it's not recommended. With the buffs from his Echoes, he can potentially one-shot your characters as he can attack up to four times in one turn.
If you face him in the abattoir, the encounter is even harder as there are more enemies.
The Amulet of Bhaal is looted from Sarevok if you killed him, or given to you if you become an Unholy Assassin. This is used to open the solid doors in the Temple of Bhaal.
Amulet of Bhaal: Accessory Guide and How to Get
The Sword of Chaos can only be obtained by killing Sarevok and looting his corpse. It has the ability to deal Necrotic damage on top of its high damage and a chance on hit to regain HP.
Sword of Chaos Weapon Guide and How to Get
Sarevok's Horned Helmet is also obtained by killing Sarevok and looting his corpse. It grants Darkvision, Critical Hit roll requirement is reduced by 1, immunity to Frightened, and +1 to Constitution Saving Throws
Sarevok's Horned Helmet: Armor Guide and How to Get
You should become an Unholy Assassin if your party isn't strong enough to take on Sarevok. You'll get to skip the fight against him and still get an Amulet of Bhaal. Take note that whoever lands the killing blow on Valeria becomes the Unholy Assassin. The Unholy Assassin will have murderous thoughts for the remainder of the game, and other Bhaalists will still attack you.
You can still kill Sarevok afterwards to get his gear but it will be a tough fight, as you'll have to take on the entire Murder Tribunal at once.
A Bhaalist merchant will appear in the throne room and sell you some Bhaal equipment, as well as some other goodies.
The Assassin of Bhaal Cowl grants the use of See Invisibility, allows seeing in the dark up to 3m, and +2 to initiative rolls.
The Bhaalist Armour grants Aura of Murder where enemies within range become Vulnerable to piercing damage, and +2 to initiative rolls
The Bhaalist Gloves grant the ability to use Garrote which deals bludgeoning damage to a single target for 3 turns, and +1 to Attack.

I never ended picking up Dolors loot after killing him - maybe 15 hours later when I wrapped back around to this quest I had no idea where I even killed him. This guide absolutely saved me on this one - thanks!
