In Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3), the Zhentarim Basement is the location of the Zhentarim Hideout underneath Waukeen's Rest. Read on to view the maps of the Zhentarim Basement and to find out all the points of interest in the Zhentarim Basement area.

Zhentarim Hideout Map

This is the main Zhentarim Hideout area map, full of the bandits of Zhentarim. There is an elevator to the Underdark here, located at the other end of the area from the entrance.

How to Get to the Underdark

Upper Floor Map

This is the floor that you'll be in upon descending from the Hatch in Waukeen's Rest in the Risen Road.

There's nothing much in this area; you just need to find the secret entrance to the hideout here, that you can unlock by taking the key from Salazon, the lookout in Waukeen's Rest.

Wardrobe (Hidden Stairs)

Wardrobe (Hidden Stairs)

Upon entering the Zhentarim Basement from the house in Waukeen's Rest, you'll be inside a tiny storehouse; this is the upper floor of the Zhentarim Basement. The entrance to the actual hideout can be found behind the Wardrobe in this upper floor.

You need the key held by Salazon, the lookout that you should have encountered in the house above, in Waukeen's Rest.

Tell him the secret password to get the key without battling him; otherwise, kill and loot him for the key. This key will unlock the wardrobe and reveal the stairs to the hideout. You can also destroy or lockpick the wardrobe if you didn't get the key.

The Zhentarim Hideout Waypoint can be found upon descending to the hideout, near the ladder.

Elevator to Underdark

At the other end of the hideout from the waypoint, past the Illusory Rock, you'll find the elevator which is one of the entrances to the Underdark.

You'll need to operate the winch first, which needs the Mechanical Key held by Karad, one of the Zhentarim soldiers roaming nearby. Pickpocket or kill and loot him for the key.

Zarys

Zarys
Coordinates: (277, -249)

Zarys is the leader of the Zhentarim inside this hideout. If you haven't gotten the Caravan Box in Risen Road yet, she'll give a task for you to retrieve it, starting the Find the Missing Shipment quest.

If you have already have taken the Caravan Box in the Risen Road and haven't opened it, you can give it to her to receive the Harold weapon.

Otherwise, if you opened the box, she'll be hostile against you. Looting her will give you the Zhentarim Key, which opens the two gates in the northern part of the hideout.

Find the Missing Shipment

Brem

Brem
Coordinates: (292, -245)

Brem is the trader in the hideout. He'll turn hostile against you if Zarys does, so try not to talking to anger her or attacking her if you still want to trade with him.

If you successfully complete the Find the Missing Shipment quest with Zarys, he'll begin selling a lot more items: he'll have a bunch of Uncommon and Rare weapons and armor in stock. He'll drop some of these if you kill him.

He's also the person to talk to if you want to free Oskar Fevras. He'll be selling the slave for either 1000 Gold by default, 600 Gold for some choices and checks, or completely free if you choose the correct dialogue and pass the check.

Oskar Fevras

Oskar Fevras

Oskar Fevras is a painter enslaved by the Zhentarims in the hideout. He'll ask you to buy him; talk to Brem nearby to negotiate for the price and pay. If you want to, you can also just kill all the Zhentarim in the hideout, and Oskar's quest will still progress.

After you buy him or kill the Zhentarim, he'll ask for 200 Gold. Give it to him to progress his quest and so that you can encounter him later in Act III.

How to Free Oskar Fevras?

Karad

Karad
Coordinates: (285, -204)

Karad is one of the three soldiers guarding the northern area of the hideout, usually patrolling near the lower bridge.

He holds the Mechanical Key, which is needed to unlock the elevator to the Underdark. Pickpocket it from him, or kill and loot him to get the key.

Jarg

Jarg
Coordinates: (305, -186)

Jarg is one of the three soldiers guarding the northern area of the hideout, patrolling near the gated rooms at the northernmost part of the hideout.

He holds the Zhentarim Key, which will open both gates (this is the same key that Zarys has). You don't need this key if you're confident in your lockpicking skills, but if you want it, you can pickpocket or loot him to get the key.

Vol

Vol
Coordinates: (290, -192)

Vol is one of the three soldiers guarding the northern area of the hideout, standing by the mines in the rock bridge.

She holds the Ornate Key, which unlocks a couple of chests located in one of the gated rooms. You don't need this key if you're confident in your lockpicking skills, but if you want it, you can pickpocket or loot her to get the key.

In the northern part of the hideout, near the soldiers and wolves, there's a rock wall that's actually just an illusion; you can spot it with a perception check. You can go through the illusory wall by just walking through it.

You'll find the elevator to the Underdark beyond this rock wall.

Iron Gates

At the northernmost part of the hideout, there are a couple of rooms with locked gates. The key to both of these gates is the Zhentarim Key, held by Zarys (the Zhentarim leader) and Jarg (one of the guards nearby). These gates can also be lockpicked.

In the right gated room, there's a single Ornate Chest without a trap or lock. You'll find the very rare Abyss Reckoners equipment inside.

Wooden Chest: Infernal Iron

Wooden Chest: Infernal Iron
Coordinates: (284, -164)

In the left gated room, there are a couple of Wooden Chests; both are locked and trapped. The key to both of these chests is the Ornate Key, held by Vol, one of the guards nearby.

The right wooden chest has an Infernal Iron, a good amount of gold, and an Arrow of Ice inside.

In the left gated room, the left wooden chest also has a good amount of gold and a couple of valuables inside.
