Talk to Derryth in Myconid Colony

Derryth Bonecloak is a trader in Myconid Colony in the Underdark. Find her in the western part of Myconid Colony and talk to her to start the quest.

Travel Northwest to Find Baelen

Derryth's husband Baelen is currently missing after picking up mushrooms in the underdark. Travel northwest to the marked location and look for a cavern filled with Bibberbangs to find him.

Help Baelen Escape the Bibberbangs

Once you reach the area, do not activate the Bibberbangs to prevent an explosion. Enter slowly and don't go all the way inside; just enough to trigger a conversation with Baelen.

During the dialogue, you can show him a Misty Step Scroll if you already have one and pass a Strength Check (DC10) to give it to him and let him escape. Alternatively, you can go to his backpack and get a Misty Step Scroll.

He will give you an Invisibility Scroll for helping him before heading back to her wife.

How to Reach the Backpack

• Travel on the rock ledges on the left side by jumping. Keep on jumping from ledge to ledge until you get close to the backpack.
• Jump down carefully and not to close to any Bibberbangs. Check the backpack and grab everything, including the two Misty Step Scrolls.
• Throw the Misty Step Scroll near Baelen to get him out. Trace your way back or just use a Misty Step Scroll as well and talk to him.

Get the Noblestalk (Optional)

You will learn eventually that Baelen is supposed to be looking for a Noblestalk; the main purpose of him going out. You can find and get it in the Bibberbang area as well. Save the trouble of going back by getting it before you follow Baelen back to Derryth.

You can still finish the quest without getting this, but you'll miss important dialogues later on.

How to Get the Noblestalk

• The safest and fastest way to get the Noblestalk is to summon a Mage Hand and use it to get the Noblestalk. Summon one and move it close to the Noblestalk.
• Move the Noblestalk towards your location by dragging it. Make sure you don't throw it or it will be destroyed!
• Pick up the Noblestalk and return to Derryth and Baelen.

Return to Derryth

Go back to Derryth in Myconid Colony after saving Baelen. You will hear them arguing about the Noblestalk that Baelen is supposed to pick up. You can immediately end the quest after talking to Derryth and receiving the Gloves of Uninhibited Kushigo, but you can also ask her about the Noblestalk and choose what to do with it.

The choice you make will affect your relationship with them and the rewards you will get on this quest. You will still get the gloves regardless of your decision.

• Don't get the Noblestalk - No further dialogue, but you can still finish the quest.
• Give the Noblestalk - Your relationship with her will go up and she will tell you about her shop in Baldur's Gate. Although there's no confirmation yet, you might get some discount or bonuses once you get to her shop!
• Keep the Noblestalk to yourself - Derryth will get angry and won't allow you to trade any longer.
• Ask for a reward and give the Noblestalk - Do an Intimidation Check (DC10) and ask for a reward for the Noblestalk. Derryth will give you a Tarnished Ring you can sell and will still allow you to trade with her.
• Ask for a reward and keep the Noblestalk - Do an Intimidation Check (DC10) and ask for a reward for the Noblestalk. Derryth will give you a Tarnished Ring, but she will get mad and won't allow you to trade with her.
