Character Creation Guide

Companions Not in Use Will Be Sent to Camp

Attempting to recruit a character with a full party will tell you that there's no room for another member in your group. From there, you can ask them to meet with you at the camp instead, where you can have them join you should a party slot be available.

How to Go to the Camp

How to Switch Party Members

Ensure Your Party Has a Free Slot

Baldur
To free up a party slot, simply head to the camp, speak with the party member you want removed, then ask them to stay at the camp in the meantime.

Switching party members with a full roster is not possible and will require you to have a party member sit out at the camp first.

Have a Companion to Join You in Camp

Baldur
Once you have a free slot in your party, proceed to the party member you want in your party and ask them to join you.

How to Unlock Party Members

Recruit Origin or Non-Origin Companions

Baldur

The player recruiting Shadowheart at Druid Grove.

Origin characters are recruitable, pre-made playable characters, each with unique personal backstories, side campaigns, and exclusive interactions in the world. You can also select an Origin character before starting a new game.

There are also Non-Origin recruits scattered across the world with various recruitment methods, but don't have in-depth backstories, questlines, and the like under their belt.
