Mushroom Path / Front Door Path

The Arcane Tower is a place in the Underdark composed of several floors, each with valuable information and loot. However, you need to pass through the turrets first before you can enter and search every corner!
How to Enter the Arcane Tower: Arcane Turret Solution

Sneak Past the Turrets

Baldur

There are two Arcane Turrets guaring the entrance to the Arcane Tower. You must sneak past them and head to the Power Generator inside the Arcane Tower to turn them off.

It's better to use one character only here, so you won't have to worry about each one getting attacked. It's also better if you use a character that have proficiencies against locked doors.

Use Invisibility Potion, Scroll, or Spell

Baldur
You can sneak past the turrets without much effort by using Invisibility on one of your characters. Run past the turrets and enter the tower, preferably through the large mushrooms you can see on the ledge near the second turret. You will learn to do this on the next step!

Enter Turn-Based Mode

Baldur
You can also opt to enter Turn-Based Mode, so you can slowly and strategically get past the turrets in the area. If you're going for this method, it's best to use the front door to enter the tower instead of taking the other path using the mushrooms.

Getting Inside the Tower and Activating the Power Generator

Using the Mushrooms on the Ledge

There is a path where you have to jump on the mushrooms on the ledge that will take you to the Power Generator. Take this route if you have an Invisibility Potion, Spell, or Scroll. You might get short on movement if you do this in Turn-Based Mode.

  • Use Invisibility and head to the ledge near the second turret.
  • Jump over the mushroom and go to the other side. Go down the next mushroom once you reach the end.
  • Continue jumping on the mushrooms until you reach the last mushroom attached to the tower walls.
  • Go down until you reach the area with a tiny Sussur Tree. Grab one Sussur Blossom, and go to the door near the path you took to get there.
  • Lockpick the door (DC15) or summon a small creature to pass through the hole on the other side and pull the lever to open the door.
  • Place the Sussur Blossom on the Power Generator. It will deactivate the turrets and activate the elevator.

Entering Through the Front Door

Baldur
Another method is to lockpick the front door and jump down from the balcony to access the generator. However, you will get damaged more on this route as you have to jump down from a high place unless you have access to Featherfall or Misty Step.

  • Turn on Turn-Based Mode and pass through the Arcane Turrets using the rocks and statues in the area.
  • Go to the front door and lockpick it (DC15). Head to the balcony and jump down. It's better if you have Featherfall or Misty Step to avoid receiving fall damage.
  • Continue going down until you reach the small Sussur Tree. Take one of the Sussur Blossoms and go to the door on the other side.
  • Pick the lock (DC15) and go inside the tower. Place the Sussur Blossom on the Power Generator to turn off the turrets and get access to the elevator.

How to Turn off the Arcane Turrets in Selunite Outpost

Attack the Moonstone in the Statue

Baldur

The Moonstone in the statue is what powers up the two Arcane Turrets outside. Attack it with a ranged weapon or spell to turn the turrets off. You can climb the stairs to get a better view if you can't see it!

The best way to get to Selunite Outpost is through the Defiled Temple, as you will land inside where the statue and Moonstone lie and avoid strong monsters in the Underdark.
