How to Steal the Sacred Idol

How to Steal the Sacred Idol Summary

Help Mol with Exacting Revenge

Enter the Tiefling hideout by using the hole behind Mattis in Emerald Grove. You can get inside the hole by using a character belonging to one of the smaller races, using an Enlarge/Reduce spell, or using a Disguise Self spell.

Offer to help Mol with carrying out her revenge by stealing the Sacred Idol from the Druids to initiate the side quest.

How to Initiate Steal the Sacred Idol Side Quest

Specific dialogue choices when speaking with Mol will initiate the side quest. Select the dialogue choices below throughout your conversation to start the side quest.

  • Happy to Help.
  • Thought you might need help with something.
  • I'll see what I can do.

Stop the Druid Ritual

Baldur

If you have already stopped the Druid ritual by exposing Kagha and the Shadow Druids in another quest line, you can proceed to the next section. Otherwise, follow the following steps.

Attempting to steal the Sacred Idol while the Druid ritual is ongoing will make the Druids hostile and kill off the Tieflings and you will be unable to complete this side quest!

Read the Letter in Kagha's Chest

Just a few steps north from Kagha's location is the Servants' Quarters. Go behind the bookshelf in the west side to find Kagha's chest. This chest is locked so you will need to use a lockpick to open it. Inside is a letter hinting at Kagha's clandestine operations, pointing you towards Druid Sanctuary.

Go to Druid Sanctuary

The Druid Sanctuary is located south of the Blighted Village. Once you reach the damaged wharf, make your way to the island further south by jumping on the rocks. When you have reached Druid Sanctuary, you will have to fight some Wood Woads and Mephits.

If available, use fire spells against Wood Woads as they are vulnerable to fire. As for the Mephits, try to kill them before they get close as they explode upon death.

Read the Letter to Kagha

After defeating the enemies, go to the southern side of the giant tree stump. Approach it to reveal a wooden crevice and find a letter addressed to Kagha from the Shadow Druids. Go back to Emerald Grove and speak with Kagha regarding her cooperation with the Shadow Druids.

Defeat the Shadow Druids

Baldur

Confront and try to persuade Kagha to stop the ritual. If you succeed at persuading Kagha, she will join you in defeating the Shadow Druids. If you failed, you will have to defeat her and the Shadow Druids.

Throw the Sacred Idol with Mage Hand

Even with the Druid ritual stopped, you still won't be able to steal the Sacred Idol out in the open because of the Druids. Instead, cast Mage Hand to throw the Sacred Idol into an area where no one can see.

Make sure to have a character with high Deception ready to pick it up wherever you throw it, so you can slip away from suspecting Druids.

Give the Sacred Idol to Mol

Return to Mol in the Tiefling hideout and give her the Sacred Idol. She will give you a reward for your troubles and the side quest should be completed. You also have the choice to keep the Sacred Idol by deceiving Mol.

Should You Give or Keep the Sacred Idol?

Give to Mol to Get a Ring of Protection

Baldur

If you are looking to beef up your frontliners, then you cannot go wrong with giving Mol the Sacred Idol in exchange for the Ring of Protection. It gives Armor Class +1 and Saving Throw +1 when equipped.

Ring of Protection Accessory Guide

Keep to Benefit from Silvanus' Blessing

Baldur

If you do not care about the defensive stats of the Ring of Protection, you can instead keep the Sacred Idol for yourself. Having it in your inventory grants the Silvanus' Blessing aura that affects all party members in range, granting Proficiency in Nature and Animal Handling.

there's a time limit to enter the portal they came through. Did you get through it in a few turns? Maybe that's why the elder brain shows up?
