Bonus Actions are additional moves, spells, and abilities that you can perform during combat in Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3). Learn more about Bonus Actions, including a list of all Bonus Actions, and how to use them in-game!
Bonus Actions are class abilities and spells that you can do after performing your primary actions during your turn as a follow-up action in combat.
You can perform secondary resource moves such as jumping, hiding yourself around the battle arena, as well as cast out healing, hex, and protection spells.
Take note that you can only perform one Bonus Action per turn so be sure to think twice before selecting an action as you cannot cancel it after choosing one!
There are a few Bonus Actions that require you to meet certain conditions before being able to use them such as having some remaining movement speed for the turn or being rested enough to cast out a bonus action spell.
Select the orange triangular shape at the bottom skill menu to open the Bonus Actions tab, then select the action that you wish to use.
The number of triangle icons present on the tab indicates the amount of bonus actions a character can use during a turn. This amount is determined by class, race, abilities, and items of the character.
Bonus Action | Effect | Conditions |
---|---|---|
Jump | Jump to a Destination | Requires/Consumes 3m Movement Speed |
Hide | Try to conceal yourself. | - |
Dip | Dip a weapon into a surface to alter the surface or enhance the weapon. | - |
Shove | Try to push a target away. | - |
Cunning Action: Disengage | Focus on retreating safely. Moving won't provoke Opportunity Attacks. | - |
Cunning Action: Dash | Double your Movement Speed this turn. | - |
Reflective Shell | A protective shell envelops you. Reflects any projectiles targeted at you back to their origin. | Requires Short Rest to use again. |
Psionic Pull | Pull one creature or object towards you. | - |
Rally | Bolster the resolve of a friendly creature. It gains an additional 8 hit points. | - |
Pommel Strike | Make a non-lethal attack against an enemy and possibly Daze them. | Requires Short Rest to use again. |
Listed above are examples of bonus actions. Note that some bonus actions are only applicable depending on the character's class, race, and used weapons.
