Coordinates: (-406, 566) |
Auntie Ethel, the hag that kidnapped Mayrina, is the main point of interest in this area, located in the Ancient Abode area deep in the dungeon. She'll fight you immediately when you reach that area.
After almost killing her, you'll be given a few different options. Some choices will give you Auntie Ethel's Hair, an item that permanently increases your Ability Score by 1. If you choose to kill her, youll be able to obtain a lot of potions, equipment, scrolls, and gold from her body.

Coordinates: (-308, 504) |
In the Entrance Gallery area, you'll find a Gnarled Door blocking the way. When you approach it, it will start a conversation trying to do its best to make you turn back.
It doesn't matter what your choices are; there are a couple of rolls but it doesn't matter if you pass them or not. To go through the door, simply walk across it (instead of clicking the door, you'll need to click on the ground at the other side of the door).
Gnarled Door (Middle of Overgrown Tunnel) |
---|
Coordinates: (-352, 581) |
You'll find a similar looking Gnarled Door way past the first one, past the enemies and traps; unlike the first Gnarled Door, you can't simply walk through this one. To go through this door, one of your party members will need to equip a Whispering Mask. There are a few of them on the table before the first Gnarled Door, but the masked enemies you have passed by (and likely fought) will have them too.
How to Prevent the Whispering Mask Curse
Note that the Whispering Mask has an effect that has the equipped character do a roll every few seconds; if the roll succeeds, that character will turn against your party! You'll be unable to undo this effect it until you've downed that party member.
To prevent this, deal with Auntie Ethel first before wearing the mask; the curse won't activate after she's been dealt with. You can also quickly remove the mask after passing through the door.
