Short range of fire unless the weapon is charged up.

When there are no enemy Inklings in the area, use this time to coat areas with ink especially the zones near your spawn. This will provide support for your allies who have weapons with higher combat potential.
Shooting while on the ground unleashes three ink shots horizontally. If you are facing a single enemy, make sure to jump and shoot while in the air. This will force the weapon to fire all the shots vertically instead. If you manage to hit all shots directly, this will result in an insta-splat!
The REEF LUX 450 is a slightly more complex to use than most weapons in terms of aiming, you can compensate for this by using the Tenta Missiles to easily target and attack multiple enemies at once.

Personally, I superjump back to base when I charge my special— that way, I have the best potential to get as many enemies as possible in the target range! Which is why having quick super jump is SUPER useful, especially when combined with any abilities that boost your special. It's also important to remember not to be TOO nitpicky about inking every surface 100% (ergo, ignoring tiny gaps that aren't inked), but I'm bad at keeping myself in check with that 😅
