Players can grow crops to consume for their needs, or turn into helpful items and consumables. Below are some of the best crops players can grow in-game.
Beets are an essential component in crafting Sanity Gummies, as Beets are refined into the Sugar that is needed for the recipe. 1 Beet is 1 unit of Sugar, which translates into one Sanity Gummy when cooked at a Stove, along with 1 unit of Water (either Boiled or Pure).
Players can find lots of beets to harvest for their seeds at the farm in Meyer's Market, in the Broken Delta region.
Hawthorns can be used as an easy-to-grow ingredient to sate Hunger and Thirst before players find better crops to farm.
They grow quickly, and can be used in the basic recipes of Grilled Hawthorn and Hawthorn Juice for very easily accessible food items.
Corn is a crop that is used in a handful of beneficial recipes, such as Corn Bread and Corn Oil, that restore more Hunger and are used in more advanced recipes particularly.
Corn can also be harvested for their seeds, and are found relatively frequently in certain areas of the map such as in Citrus County should players need more corn seeds in their inventory.
Oranges are used to make the very simple Orange Soda recipe, which requires 1 Orange and 1 Glass, to make a consumable that restores a lot of Thirst for its cost.
Players can find Orange Trees and harvest them for a chance to get their seeds in the Tall Grass Inn, located in the Chalk Peak region.
Coneflower can be used to make the Fruit Tea recipe, which has a double purpose of restoring both Sanity and Thirst. It takes 1 Coneflower and 1 unit of Water (either Boiled or Pure) to make the tea. It's easy to find and grows quickly.
Wheat is a little difficult to find, but can be used raw as an ingredient in advanced recipes like Corn Soup. It can also be turned into Bread that is used in even more recipes, like Bread with Jam.
