Is Idiot Savant Worth It?

Only If Your Intelligence is Low

Idiot Savant is a perk that is only worth getting if you have low Intelligence. The lower the Intelligence you have, the higher the chances of you randomly getting an XP bonus from doing any actions in-game.

Otherwise, players with high Intelligence can skip this perk since they will not benefit a lot from it.

Rank Required Lvl. Description
Rank 1 - Randomly receive 3x XP from any action, and the lower your Intelligence, the greater the chance.
Rank 2 11 You now randomly receive 5x XP from any action. The lower your Intelligence, the greater the chance.
Rank 3 34 Randomly receiving bonus XP from any action may trigger 3x XP for all kills for a short period of time. The lower your Intelligence, the greater the chance.

How to Get Idiot Savant

Unlock Idiot Savant at Luck 5

Fallout 4 Idiot Savant Perk
Idiot Savant is on Luck Level 5

The Idiot Savant perk is unlocked when your Luck is at Level 5. You can start at this level by assigning 5 points to Luck during the Registration Form at the start of the game. Otherwise, you can get to this level by collecting SPECIAL magazines or bobbleheads and spending perk points upon level up.

After getting to Luck 5, you're free to spend perk points on ranking up the skill, as long as you are at the required character level to rank up.
