Confidence Man Walkthrough

1. Speak With Travis at the Radio Station
2. Speak With Vadim at the Dugout Inn
3. Return to the Inn at 6 PM
4. Help Travis Win the Bar Fight
5. Convince Scarlett to Talk to Travis
6. Talk to Yefim
7. Meet Travis in Beantown Brewery

Speak With Travis at the Radio Station

The Diamond City Radio Station is located inside Diamond City. Look for a parked trailer truck, inside will be Travis, who is the host of the radio program. Talk to him.

You won't get much out of Travis, speak to him once and leave.

Speak With Vadim at the Dugout Inn

After speaking with Travis, head to the Dugout Inn in Diamond City to find Vadim. You'll see him talking to Hawthorne, listen to the whole conversation, and re-enter the Inn.

Talk to him once you are inside the Inn once more to start the quest. Follow him in the back room for instructions regarding the next step.

Ask for Caps

With a high enough level of Charisma, you can ask for caps and haggle for your reward of up to 300 Caps.

Return to the Inn at 6 PM

Leave the Inn and then wait for 6 PM to arrive. Find a nearby chair or bed to wait on.

If the time is past 6 PM, coming back tomorrow at 6 PM is still ideal.

How to Wait

Help Travis Win the Bar Fight

Head back inside and you'll see Travis. Talk to him and tell him that you'll help him win. Defeat Bull in a fistfight and then talk to the now excited Travis.

After this, look for Vadim and talk to him.

Convince Scarlett to Talk to Travis

The next step of the operation is to persuade Scarlett to go out with Travis.

Exit the inn and find Scarlett, convince her to go talk to Travis. Head back to the inn once the plan is a success.

Put the Quest on Your Pip-Boy

To find Scarlett or other people who are part of a quest, it's recommended to track the quest using your Pip-boy.

By doing so, you can look for the characters easily as there will be markers on where their locations are.

Talk to Yefim

After heading back to the inn, you will need to talk to Yefim, who informs you that Vadim has been kidnapped.

Yefim asks you to ask Travis about the perpetrator's whereabouts, find him in his trailer, and get information about the kidnappers.

Meet Travis in Beantown Brewery

Head out of Diamond City and go to Beantown Brewery, which is located just north of Vault 81, Travis is waiting for you here.

Talk to Travis, head inside, and prepare for battle.

Save Vadim

Once inside, deal with every Raider you see including Bull. Vadim is located in a room upstairs, free him and grab your rewards.

After freeing Vadim, you can talk to Travis to finish the quest.
