Pickman’s Gift Walkthrough

1. Go to Pickman Gallery
2. Enter the Tunnels
3. Find Pickman
4. Find the Painting in the Gallery

Go to Pickman Gallery

Pickman's Gallery is located just east of the Cabot House. Head to the gallery to begin this quest.

Once inside, you will hear Raiders talking about who Pickman is. The next thing to do is to find Pickman as the quest will only be given once Pickman is found.

Enter the Tunnels

Go to the highest floor and look for a hole to drop down. After dropping down back to the first floor, you will go through the underground tunnels leading to Pickman.

Continue following the tunnels, keep going down until you find Pickman surrounded by Raiders.

Use VATS Mode to Detect Mines

The cave is littered with Frag Mines that explode when you step on them. Utilize VATS mode to see these mines as you travel the tunnels.

Find Pickman

Once Pickman is found, you can choose whether to save him, have him killed by the Raiders, or kill him yourself.

You'll still get Pickman's Safe Key either by talking to him or by examining his body if he dies. The quest will still start nonetheless.

Killing Him Will Leave You Clueless About the Painting

If you kill Pickman, you'll get the Safe Key but you won't know where to use it. However, saving him from the raiders and talking to him afterward will inform you on where to go next.

Find the Painting in the Gallery

The painting you are looking for is Picnic for Stanley. This contains the safe where the key can be used.

Head back inside the Gallery and find the painting that houses the safe. Inside this is the Pickman's Blade and Pickman's Thank You Note.
