You can respec Skill Points and Perks in Fallout 4 (FO4) by using console commands on PC. Find out how to reset your skill points and perks, and learn the console commands for it!
There is no dedicated respec mechanic in Fallout 4. However, PC Gamers can enjoy the benefit of resetting the Skill Points and Perks of their characters with the use of Console Commands.
Using Console Commands is a unique feature exclusively for PC and isn't available when playing the game via other platforms.
To respec your skill points, you will need to open the console in-game by pressing the Tilde (~) button.
This will allow you to type in any Console Command that you can use to your advantage.
Once the console is open, type in any of the following codes followed by your desired level of that skill. Do note that you can only respec or reset skill points one level at a time.
• player.setav [Skill] [current rank +1 or -1]
Skill | Console Command |
---|---|
Strength | player.setav Strength |
Perception | player.setav Perception |
Endurance | player.setav Endurance |
Charisma | player.setav Charisma |
Intelligence | player.setav Intelligence |
Agility | player.setav Agility |
Luck | player.setav Luck |
Upon successful input, you can then again press the Tilde button (~) to exit the console and receive your corresponding skill point.
There are various Perks that you can respec. The process is the same as how you respec your skill points, only this time the console command is different.
To get the Perk you entered in the console, you must possess first the required rank of the Perk's corresponding skill.
For example, you cannot get Science! 4 without leveling up your Intelligence to Rank 6.

While you can add Perks for your character, it is also possible to remove them. Press the tilde (~) key to open the console command and type the following code:
