How to Start Dependency

Fallout 4 - Cure Austin

You will need to finish the Hole in the Wall side quest first to start Dependency. This quest becomes available after curing Austin of the mysterious disease.

Talk to Tina De Luca

Fallout 4 -Talk to Tina De Luca

After completing the Hole in the Wall side quest, talk to Tina De Luca, she is found in the reactor room where Bobby took you to find the secret vault door.

Fallout 4 - Talk to Bobby

Tina will ask you to talk to Bobby. Find him in his room, head upstairs from the reactor room, and go right. Find him in his room and talk to him.

Convince him to stop his addiction with Chems, you may need to pass some Charisma checks since choosing regular options won't have any effect and you'll have to start again with talking to him from the start.

Kill Bobby and Tina Joins Your Settlement

Fallout 4 - Work For Me

You can make Bobby turn hostile by choosing the aggressive dialogue options available. If Bobby is killed, you can talk to Tina and have a chance to persuade her to join your Settlements.

Recruiting Tina is only possible if you take the aggressive route and kill Bobby in this step of the quest.

Talk to Rachel

Fallout 4 - Talk to Rachel

The next part of the quest is to report to Tina, but you can bypass this by heading straight to Rachel and finish the quest faster.

If Bobby has been successfully convinced, he will be going to see Rachel in the Clinic himself. Follow him and then talk to Rachel after she administers Addictol to Bobby. The quest will end here.
