Scavenging Stations are settlement objects you can construct to employ settlers and passively generate junk items each day in Fallout 4 (FO4). Read this guide to learn the best uses for Scavenging Stations and if they are worth the materials to build!
Scavenging Stations are worth it to provide jobs for settlers, since they are cheap to build. Unemployment can prevent new settlers from joining a settlement so be sure to have jobs ready for settlers to continue growing the settlement.
Scavenging Stations can be a good method for farming junk items without you having to actively look for them. Each settler assigned to a scavenging station will collect two random junk items per day stored in the Workshop inventory. This adds up to a lot after a while.
Be aware that there is a limit to how much junk items that can be collected and stored by settlers which is (100 + 5 × Settlement Population). Make sure to collect the junk items regularly and store them in separate containers.
Scavenging Stations require 5 Wood and 3 Steel to build and does not require any perks to unlock. It can be found under Resources > Miscellaneous in the Workshop Menu.
