Painting the Town Objectives

  1. Talk to Abbot
  2. Head to Hardware Town
  3. Take the Paint Cans
  4. Report Back to Abbot
  5. Paint the Wall

Talk to Abbot

Fallout 4 - Talk to Abbot Diamond City

To start, head to Diamond City and locate the green walls at the back. You'll find Abbot there. Speak to him to begin the quest.

Head to Hardware Town

Next, leave Diamond City through the gate on the right. Walk down the road until you reach the empty lots. Turn right, and just ahead you'll find the back entrance of Hardware Town.

Take the Paint Cans

Fallout 4 - Painting the Town Paint Can Location

Enter Hardware Town and check the rack on the right just before the hole ahead. You'll find several paint cans here. Take some or all of them before you leave.

Mix Green Paint to Get More Caps

Fallout 4 - Paint Mixer

Although you can complete the quest with just yellow and blue paint, you can get 300 bottlecaps by mixing green paint in the mixer next to the rack.

Report Back to Abbot

Fallout 4 - Talk to Abbot

Once you have the paint cans, head back to Diamond City and report to Abbot. As mentioned above, even if you don't have green paint, you can still complete the quest with any paint cans you got from Hardware Town. Tell him you have the cans to proceed.

Paint the Wall

Fallout 4 - Paint the Wall

Paint the wall in front of you with either green, blue, or yellow paint to complete the quest. Talk to Abbot afterward to receive payment for the job.
