Baldur
Honor Mode is a new difficulty setting in Patch 5 of Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3) that offers a more challenging campaign for experienced players. Here, you'll learn all the changes in Honor Mode and the rewards for beating the game in Honor Mode.

Honor Mode Changes

Stronger Bosses and Stricter Rules

Baldur

Honor Mode raises the difficulty beyond Tactician Mode by making bosses stronger and imposing stricter rules on action economy and damage bonuses throughout the game. Bosses gain new abilities and Legendary Actions which change the way they should be approached, so try not to get caught off-guard.

An example of an adjustment to action economy is a Warlock with Pact of the Blade can no longer get 3 attacks.

Single Save File

Baldur

A standout feature of Honor Mode is the single save file. This means you can't reload older saves or have backup saves, so you must stick with your choices until you die. Upon dying, you can choose to continue in Custom Mode, but you won't be able to get the reward unless you start over.

Honor Mode Rewards

Golden D20 Dice

Players who successfully complete the campaign without dying in Honor Mode will be rewarded with a special Golden D20 dice that can be used in future playthroughs.

Foehammer Achievement

BaldurFoehammer Complete the Game in Honor Mode.

A new achievement called Foehammer can also be obtained by completing the game in Honor Mode.
