Eliminate the Lieutenants First

Defeat the three lieutenants first before focusing on Gortash himself as the lieutenants can penalize you with debuffs such as imposing disadvantages on your Saving Throws and Attack Rolls.

Throw Back Bombs

Concussion grenades will constantly be hurled at you throughout the fight. You can pick these bombs up and throw it back to either Gortash or at one of his lieutenants.

These bombs deal a considerable amount of damage and is one of the best ways to deplete their HP without having to waste your spell slots.

Avoid Ranged Attacks When Reflecto Guard is Active

When Reflecto Guard is active, avoid casting out spells or shooting arrows at him as the barrier will deflect your projectiles and be sent back to you. You can resort to melee attacks in the meantime until his Reflecto Guard wears off.

Use Powerful Spells During Avatar of Tyranny

Save up your Level 3-5 spell slots until Gortash activates Avatar of Tyranny as this buff increases his HP. You can then unleash your most powerful spells at him to quickly reduce his beefed up health points.

Here are some great level 3-5 spells for you to use:

• Call Lightning - allows you to rain down lightning strikes within range. You can then call it again for 10 turns without spending a spell slot.
• Flame Strike - Calls down a pillar of divine fire in an area.
• Guiding Bolt - the levels 3-5 version of Guiding Bolt provides higher damage and is one of the most effective single-target spells to use.

Shove Gortash Away From Tyranny Manifestations

The Manifestations of Tyranny increases Gortash's damage when he's near them. You can Shove him away from the manifestations so that he wouldn't be able to receive the damage bonus.

Stay Away From Incineration Casters

Keep out of reach of the Incineration Casters posted on the pillars as these will pump out flames that deal a tremendous amount of damage. You can tell the range of where these incenerators will shoot out flames by observing the red glowing aura on the ground.

How to Find Gortash

Throne Room of Wyrm's Rock Fortress

You can find Gortash in the Throne Room on top of Wyrm's Rock Fortress. To get there, go to the Audience Hall and there should be a passageway on the northwestern corner that leads to the tower where the throne room is located.

Take note that you'll have to beat the Steel Watchers in order to gain access to the upper levels. It might be worth destroying the Steel Foundry first to disable them before attempting to fight Gortash.
