How to Start Rescue Orin's Victim

Speak to Orin at Your Camp

You can start the quest by going to your camp and approaching Yenna who is actually Orin in disguise. She'll reveal that she has kidnapped Yenna and will release her on the condition that you kill Gortash.

Alternatively, a different scenario plays out where one of your companions who went missing earlier will appear at camp. This segment takes your companion as Orin's victim instead of Yenna.

Speak to Orin in the Sewers

Another way to begin the quest is by going to the sewers of the Emperor's Old Hideout underneath Elfsong Tavern. You'll run into Orin disguised as Yenna or one of your companions.

She'll explain that she's kidnapped one of them and the only way to secure their freedom is by killing Gortash.

Enter the Steel Watch Foundry

To kill Gortash, you'll have to get rid of his Steel Watchers first. Head over to the Steel Watch Foundry which is located on the southwest corner of the Lower City in Baldur's Gate.

You can get there by starting at Basilisk Gate and following the path west until you reach the Grey Harbour Docks. From here, keep going south until you arrive at the foundry.

Pick the lock on the gate and once inside, there will be a Steel Watcher patrolling the compound. You can choose to fight it or sneak your way through.

Defeat the Steel Watchers and Factory Overseers

Once inside, you'll have to fight all of the Steel Watchers and the factory overseers which are found on the Ground Level, the Labs, and the Control Centre. In total, there are three battles that you'll encounter here:

• The first battle takes place on the ground level as soon as you enter the Steel Foundry. This is the easiest fight of the three as it only involves defeating the overseers, provided that you eliminated the patrolling Steel Watchers outside.
• The second battle occurs in the Labs beneath the Ground Level, and it involves two Steel Watchers and several more overseers.
• The third battle happens in the Control Centre deep within the foundry, and is the most difficult of all three as there is a Steel Watcher Titan boss along with three regular Steel Watchers present here.

Eliminate the Steel Watcher Titan

As you enter the Control Centre, you'll encounter the Steel Watcher Titan and you'll have no choice but to eliminate it before proceeding. This boss has an absurd amount of HP and can enter a defensive state where it will take little to no damage.

Consider eliminating its fellow Steel Watcher minions before focusing all your efforts on this boss.

How to Beat the Steel Watcher Titan

• Have a party member with the highest HP and defense tank the Steel Watcher Titan's attacks to distract it, while the other party members can focus on taking out the three Steel Watchers.
• Once the regular versions have been dealt with, unleash all your spells and attack rolls on the Steel Watcher Titan.
• Avoid combat when it enters turtle form. While in this state, you can't damage it effectively. You can keep your distance and wait for it to return to its normal form.

Destroy the Steel Foundry

After dealing with the Steel Watcher Titan, interact with the Neurocitor at the end of the room. Upon examining, you'll realize that you don't have any clue on how to destroy it.

Head back up to the Ground Level and talk to Zanner Toobin near the entrance to the Labs. He'll agree to go with you to the Control Centre and destroy the Neurocitor. A short cutscene will play where he fidgets with the Neurocitor and all of you will run out of the foundry as it explodes.

Assault Wyrm's Rock Fortress

Head back to camp to read a letter from Orin where she instructs you to finally kill Gortash. Head over to Wyrm's Rock Fortress and eliminate all the guards within the castle grounds.

Proceed to the Audience Hall and clear it out of soldiers lurking in the area, then enter through the passageway at the northwestern end of the hall to reach the tower where Gortash is staying at.

Kill Gortash

The fight with Gortash is a tough one as his lieutenants will also be joining the battle. On top of this, he'll be empowered with Bane, which grants him a massive amount of HP and a noticeable buff in his damage.

• Take out his lieutenants first as they'll be a nuisance during the fight.
• Bombs will be hurled out constantly across the room. You can pick this up and throw it at Gortash or at one of his lieutenants. Be sure that none of your party members are within the blast radius as these deal a tremendous amount of damage!

Retrieve the Netherstone-Studded Gauntlets

Once he's dead, collect the Netherstone-Studded Gauntlets, this is a crucial item as you'll need all three Netherstones from the Chosen in order to face the Elder Brain.

Go to the Murder Tribunal Trial

Orin instructs us to submit to a trial called the Murder Tribunal. Go to the Candulhallow’s Tombstones northeast of Elfsong Tavern. Once inside, press a hidden button on the portrait to enter the secret trial site.

Obtain the Amulet of Bhaal

During the trial, you're given a choice to execute Valeria or turn against the Murder Tribunal and kill all of them instead. Either way you'll be able to obtain the Amulet of Bhaal. This amulet is required later on when attempting to enter the Temple of Bhaal.

Go to the Temple of Bhaal

The Temple of Bhaal is located in the underground area of the Lower City. You can get here by entering the manhole southeast of the Baldur's Gate waypoint and traveling through the city's sewers. Once at the entrance of the temple, press the Amulet of Bhaal on the door when prompted to open it.

How to Get to the Temple of Bhaal
1	Enter the manhole southeast of the Baldur's Gate waypoint and north of the city's harbor.
2	Once down in the sewers, make a quick turn left and enter through the door.
3	Keep following the path north until you reach the Undercity Ruins waypoint. Enter the door to the right of the waypoint.
4	You'll come across a Gatekeeper who is situated on top of a ruined building to the north. He controls the other Bhaal reapers that are attacking you and you'll have to kill him in order to get rid of the reapers. Note: You can skip this segment entirely by making your party invisible and sneaking your way across the bridge.
5	Go through the door in a room at the end of the bridge and make your way down until you reach the entrance to the temple.
6	Use the Amulet of Bhaal on the door to enter the temple.

Defeat Orin

Despite honoring your bargain of defeating Gortash, Orin will refuse to release the kidnapped victim and you'll have to fight her while the ritual is ongoing to save the victim.

Take note, throughout the battle her cultists will be spamming her buffs that make her difficult to kill.

• Use Magic Missiles to wear down Orin's Unstoppable barrier. This barrier forces you to hit her with only 1 damage until you manage to break it by infliciting enough damage.
• Once the Unstoppable barrier breaks, let your party members cast out all their spells at her to quickly kill her before the cultists buff her up again with the barrier.

Free Orin's Victim

Grab the Altar Key from Orin's corpse and use it to unlock the altar and free the kidnapped victim. This action finally completes the Rescue Orin's Victim side quest.

Upon defeating the Steel Watcher Titan, it will drop the Gontr Mael, a Legendary Longbow capable of inflicting Guiding Bolt on a target.
