How to Get to the Grymforge

Go to the Underdark Beach

Baldur

Head over to the Underdark Beach which is south of the Myconid Colony. You'll know that you're near the beach as soon as you see a small settlement filled with destroyed wooden shacks.

Defeat Gehk and the Duergar

Baldur

Defeat Gehk and the duergar inhabiting the beach as you'll need to kill them first in order to access the boat that leads to the Grymforge.

Be sure to take a Long Rest before fighting to restore spell slots as they'll be a bit tough to deal with due to their high defense and ability to summon undead corpses.

Completes the Defeat the Duergar Intruders Quest

Clearing the Underdark Beach also completes the Defeat the Duergar Intruders side quest, given to you by Spaw at the Myconid Colony where you're tasked with killing all the Duergar in the area.

Defeat the Duergar Intruders

Board the Underdark Duergar Boat

Baldur

After defeating Gehk and the other duergar, board the Underdark Duergar Boat which is docked at the pier, then make your towards the Grymforge.

Deal with the Patrol Boat

Baldur

While sailing towards the Grymforge, you'll be stopped by Corsair Greymon and a few other duergar patrolling the waters.

You can diffuse the situation by Intimidating him (DC 10), Deceiving him (DC 15), or push him off the boat with a Strength check (DC 15). Fail any of the checks and you'll be forced to fight the crew.

What is Strength?

Talk to Morghal Upon Arriving

Baldur

Morghal will ask for 100 Gold as a donation before being able to enter the Grymforge. Refusing to donate won't have any consequences, so this will be the best option to save your hard earned gold.

After dealing with Morghal, you're free to explore the Grymforge at your own pace.
