Sussur Tree Bark is a special item that can only be obtained from the large Sussur Tree found in the Underdark. Players will have to climb the large tree and shave off a piece of bark from one specific section of the trunk.

Be careful when attempting to obtain this item since the area will be patrolled by 4 Hook Horrors and a crazy Drow Mage. You will have to beat them in order to access the Sussur Tree Bark.

How to Reach the Underdark

There are multiple way of reaching the Sussur Tree in the Underdark. Here are a few methods that you can use to unlock this section of the map:

  • Use the ladder in the Defiled Temple to reach the Selunite Outpost. Can be accessed by solving the Moon Puzzle after you go through High Priestess Gut's room.
  • After beating the Phase Spider Matriarch underneath the Blighted Village, cast Feather Fall and jump down the chasm at the center of the arena. This allows you to arrive at the Underdark safely.
  • Use the Zhentarim Elevator in the Zhentarim Hideout. This area can be accessed during the Find the Missing Shipment side quest.

Baldurs Gate 3 - Combine the Sus

Sussur Tree Bark is a key ingredient during the forging process of the Finish the Masterwork Weapon side quest. Once obtained, it can be combined with the furnace underneath the Blacksmith Building of the Blighted Village to produce a blue, Melting Flame.

To forge the Masterwork Weapon, combine a regular Dagger, Sickle, or Greatsword with the flame. This will reward you with a Sussur-type variant of the weapon with increased stats. Do note that you can only get one out of the 3 weapons, so choose wisely.
