It is recommended to sell the Owlbear Egg for easy money in Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3). Read on to learn the consequence of selling or keeping the Owlbear Egg, the cost of the Owlbear Egg, and where to find the Owlbear Egg!

It is highly recommended to sell the Owlbear Egg as it can go up to 750 Gold when sold to merchants you have a high affinity with. You can increase your friendliness with merchants by consistently purchasing items from them and providing offers they will be happy with.
In addition, should you have a high charisma stat, you can also increase the Owlbear Egg's value past 750 Gold.
How to Buy and Sell Items from NPCs

The Owlbear Egg is located inside Owlbear Nest, a cave that can be found northeast of Blighted Village.
If you are coming from the Druid Grove, simply head west of the Emerald Grove entrance until you have crossed over a bridge with dead goblins. Look for a cave opening near the area!

The Owlbear Egg can be found resting on a nest within Owlbear Nest near the end of the area.
There is both an Owlbear and an Owlbear Cub nearby. Being seen by them will trigger a cutscene with the Owlbear. Going to close to the egg while any of them are watching will trigger a fight.
Take note there is also a Selunite Chest that you can try to open within the area.
There is an Owlbear players can face in order to get to the Owlbear Egg. You can, however, try to sneak your way to the egg. This can prove challenging for most.
If you managed to succeed in any of the Skill Check dialogue involving avoiding an immediate battle with the Owlbear, you should be able to get closer to the egg.
Keep in mind that if you leave the Owlbear Cub alive, you will be able to find it much later at the Goblin Camp. Completing this questline will have the Owlbear Cub as your potential pet in camp.

The Owlbear egg has a value in a quest much later in the game, particularly stealing the Githyanki Egg at Creche Yllek in the Mountain Pass for Lady Esther.
When talking to Lady Esther, present the Owlbear Egg and earn any of the dialogue options to earn the around 255 Gold from her!

Succeeding in any of the dialogue options above will have Lady Esther take the Owlbear Egg instead of the Githyanki Egg. You can give it to her as soon as you meet her.
Keep in mind that Difficulty Class for each option here is 21, making them hard options if you lack any related proficiency bonuses or advantage.
