Spiderling Nest Guide

This is a walkthrough for the Spiderling Nest in Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3). Read on to know how to clear the dialogue skill checks to get the item pouch inside!

How to Find the Spiderling Nest

Jump on the Rock Platform

The Spiderling Nest can be found on top of a cliff south of Emerald Grove. Players will first need to jump on the rock platform next to the road to get to the top. Afterwards, you can climb up the cragged rock, then find a ladder ahead going up the cliff.

Pass A Perception Check

Once on top, there will be a perception check when you pass by the rock with a hole on your right. If you fail this check, you cannot interact with it so make sure to have your whole party pass by it. Characters with a high Wisdom stat, like Shadowheart, should have a higher chance of passing it.

When you interact with the Rock Crevice, there will be a Nature check but it is not required to pass it, as you still get access to the two dialogue options.

To get the pouch, you will have to pass either of the skill checks in the table above. It is recommended to get a party member with high Wisdom for Animal Handling, like Shadowheart, and one with high Dexterity for Sleight of Hand, such as Astarion.

Failing the Checks

Failing the Animal Handling check will cause the option to disappear. Failing the Sleight of Hand check, on the other hand, causes the spiders to bite your hand. You can attempt the Sleight of Hand check for a second time, but failing that again will result in a battle against the spiders. You'll have the opportunity to get the pouch regardless if you succeeded in one check, or failed all three after the fight.

With these in mind, it is recommended to start off with the Animal Handling check first to ensure you get all possible checks for the best chances of avoiding a battle and avoiding getting damaged.

Pouch with Gold and a Spider Egg Sac

If you complete the side quest, you will get a pouch containing some Gold and a Spider Egg Sac. The pouch itself can be handy since you can use it to store items inside, which can help you organize your inventory and save space.
