Learn by Leveling Up

Baldur
One of the quickest ways to learn new spells is to level up your character and select two spells from the provided selection. Majority of spell casters can learn new spells or increase their current spell slot which opens up the ability to equip other unprepared spells. Some examples of spellcasting classes are the Wizard, Warlock, Sorcerer, Bard, Cleric, Paladin, Rangers, and Druid!

There are also Subclasses that can grant your existing classes the ability to learn spells such as Eldritch Knight (Fighter), Way of the Four Elements (Monk), and the Arcane Trickster (Rogue)!

Learn By Transcribing Scrolls (Wizards Only)

Baldur

Wizards can also permanently learn new spells from scrolls. Right-clicking on any available scroll will include a special option called Learn Spell that allows them to learn the new spell permanently. However, some spells will still have requirements Make sure to also meet the requirements as well to learn the spells.

Keep in mind that any other spellcasting classes that use scrolls will only allow them to cast the spell once. No other classes can learn permanent spells from scrolls other than Wizards.

How to Equip New Spells

Prepared Casters Can Equip New Spells from the Spellbook

Clerics, Druids, Paladins, and Wizards are Prepared Casters. This means they can equip new spells and edit their current spell lists at any time provided they are not in combat (or when they level up).

To equip any new spells you may have unlocked while playing as one of these classes, simply add or replace the spells in your spell list with the new ones found in your Spellbook.

Non-Prepared Casters Can Only Equip Spells On Level Up

Non-prepared casters like Warlocks, Sorcerers, Bards, and Rangers will only be able to edit their spell list from the level up screen.

Use the Spell Replacement feature when leveling up to switch out spells in your spell list. If you want to switch out your spells in-between level ups, the only way is to respec your current class to reset your choices.
