Is Baldur's Gate 3 Multiplayer?

Online and Local Multiplayer Modes Available

Baldur's Gate 3 allows for multiplayer gameplay, where a maximum of 4 players can team up and take on the main campaign either locally or online.

This can be set up via the title screen menu and selecting the Multiplayer section. From there, players can choose Online or LAN, where they can play with players worldwide over the internet or through a local connection.

Online Multiplayer Mode

Over an online connection, players can join player-hosted rooms and take part in the host's campaign.

Listed in the Online Multiplayer menu are the number of players, their respective adventures, location, and level, so players can immediately determine what to expect by looking at the lobby.

Local Multiplayer Mode via LAN

Players can also play locally over LAN and play the campaign set up by the host.

Unlike the Online Multiplayer lobby, LAN players will only see rooms set up by other players that are in the same local connection as them.

Split-Screen Co-Op Mode Available

Players can start a split-screen co-op playthrough by creating a multiplayer game from the main menu with two controllers connected to a PC.

Afterward, once the game is looking for another player, use the second controller for it to be recognized by the game so the pair can play the game via split-screen!
