The Dark Urge Walkthrough Guide

Dream About Dark Urge Intentions

# Step
1
After waking up on Ravaged Beach, gather enough camp supplies and head to your camp to take a Long Rest.

This officially starts the Dark Urge questline as your character will begin to have dreams of murderous intentions and intense hunger for blood.
2
You'll awaken after this brief cutscene. You can then proceed to playing through the main campaign normally until you've decided to call it a day as the next objective would require you to sleep at camp again.

Invite Alfira the Tiefling to Your Party

# Step
1
A tiefling named Alfira will appear at your camp and will ask if she can join your party. Agree to this, then take a Long Rest.
2
You'll awaken later on with her corpse ripped apart and her blood on your hands.

You'll be given a choice to hide the body, wash the blood away, or admit to your companions that you're the culprit.

Meeting Sceleritas Fel

# Step
1
Sceleterial Fel will appear in another random event at your camp. He'll introduce himself as your butler and would proceed to praise you for killing Alfira.
2
You can ask him about why you're suddenly committing atrocious acts, but unfortunately he can't reveal anything about your past.

After the cutscene ends, you'll receive the The Deathstalker Mantle cape as a reward.

Kill Isobel or One of Your Companions

Baldur

As soon as you meet Isobel at the Last Light Inn, you will immediately get into a fight with Marcus and the winged horrors.

If she survives the fight, Sceleritas Fel will appear again once you rest at your camp, and will request for you to kill Isobel in order to receive a special prize.

But if she dies during the battle, Sceleritas Fel will still visit you but will ask to kill one of your companions instead.

Killing Isobel

# Step
1
Travel back to the Last Light Inn to meet with Isobel.
1a
Option A: Kill Isobel
You can kill Isobel immediately or talk to her to get a dark urge moment.

Giving in to the urge will trigger a battle with her so it might be best to attack as soon as you see her.
1b Option B: Spare Isobel's Life
You can choose not to give in to the dark urge and let her live, or simply just ignore the butler's request.
2
If you kill Isobel, take a long rest again at your camp and Sceleritas Fel will appear once more. He will reward you with the Slayer Form, an ability that lets you transform into a behemoth monster.

He will also give you another task to kill Isobel's lineage, the Moonmade family tree.

However, if you spare Isobel's life, the butler won't appear at your camp.

Killing Your Companion

# Step
1
If Isobel dies, Sceleritas Fel will ask you to kill one of your companions instead, and you'll be faced with a difficult choice.
2
You can either choose to kill your companion while they're sound asleep, or disagree with your butler's request.

Regardless of your choice, your companion will be dead by your hands as you lost control of yourself while asleep.
3
When morning arrives, your other companions won't be happy with this, so be prepared for a long tough fight!

Go to Wyrm's Rock Fortess

Baldur

As you venture forth in Act 3, go to Wyrm's Rock Fortress to receive a vision of your past. Sceleritas Fel will also tell you to kill your bloodkin, Orin, at the Temple of Bhaal and reclaim your place as Bhaal's chosen.

How to Get to Wyrm's Rock Fortress

Obtain an Amulet of Bhaal From the Murder Tribunal Trial

The Amulet of Bhaal is required to enter the Temple of Bhaal. To obtain one, you'll have to get it from the Murder Tribunal northeast of Elfsong Tavern. During the trial, you can either execute Valeria or kill Sarevok Anchev and the rest of the Murder Tribunal members to get the amulet.

Amulet of Bhaal: Accessory Guide and How to Get

Requires Password From Orin to Enter the Trials

In order to access the doorway leading to the Murder Tribunal, you'll need to know the passcode which requires you to progress through the Rescue Orin's Victim side quest until you receive the password from one of Orin's messages at your camp.

How to Rescue Orin's Victim

Go to the Temple of Bhaal

Make your way towards the Temple of Bhaal located in the Lower City's sewers. Once underground, the temple is on the far north of the sewage system.

Sceleritas Fel will greet you with open arms at the temple's entrance. He'll explain that Orin is waiting for you at the ritual site.

How to Get to the Temple of Bhaal

How to Get to the Temple of Bhaal
1
Enter the manhole southeast of the Baldur's Gate waypoint and north of the city's harbor.
2
Once down in the sewers, make a quick turn left and enter through the door.
3
Keep following the path north until you reach the Undercity Ruins waypoint. Enter the door to the right of the waypoint.
4
You'll come across a Gatekeeper who is situated on top of a ruined building to the north. He controls the other Bhaal reapers that are attacking you and you'll have to kill him in order to get rid of the reapers.

Note: You can skip this segment entirely by making your party invisible and sneaking your way across the bridge.
5
Go through the door in a room at the end of the bridge and make your way down until you reach the entrance to the temple.
6
Use the Amulet of Bhaal on the door to enter the temple.

Kill Orin

Baldur

Orin will be in the ritual site where she has taken one of your companions or Yenna as sacrifice. You'll be challenging her to a one-on-one duel where your party and her cultists cannot intervene. If you let one of your party members interfere in the fight, the cultists will also join in and will spam their buff spells at Orin.

Once Orin is dead, an avatar of Bhaal will appear and will tell you to take command of the Elder Brain and unleash destruction in the world.

How to Beat Orin

  • As a Dark Urge character, you'll be going up against Orin in a one-on-one duel. Use the Slayer form that you obtained from Sceleritas Fel earlier and use the multiattack skill to wear down Orin's Unstoppable barrier.
  • Once the Unstoppable barrier breaks, let your party members interfere in the fight. Allow them to cast out all their spells at her to quickly kill her before the cultists buff her up again with the barrier.
  • Should the barrier emerge again, you can also cast out Magic Missiles if you or one of your party members has it to quickly destroy it.

A Dark and Twisted Origin Character

Baldur
Upon waking up from the events on the Nautiloid, The Dark Urge is met with thoughts of blood and violence.
