Is Pickpocket Worth It?

Good for a Thief Build

You can go for the Pickpocket perk if you want to focus on playing as a Thief in Fallout 4. It will help you increase the chances of stealing items from an NPC and even placing a live grenade in their pockets.

You can also earn some money if you sell them to merchants or vendors who buy stolen items.

Rank Required Lvl. Description
Rank 1 - Picking pockets is 25 percent easier.
Rank 2 6 Picking pockets is now 50 percent easier. You can place a live grenade in a person's inventory.
Rank 3 17 Picking pockets is now 75 percent easier, and you can steal equipped weapons.
Rank 4 30 Picking pockets is now twice as easy, and you can steal equipped items.

How to Get Pickpocket

Unlock Pickpocket at Perception 1

Fallout 4 Pickpocket Perk
Pickpocket is on Perception Level 1

The Pickpocket perk is unlocked when your Perception is at Level 1. You can start at this level by assigning 1 point to Perception during the Registration Form at the start of the game. Otherwise, you can get to this level by collecting SPECIAL magazines or bobbleheads and spending perk points upon level up.

After getting to Perception 1, you're free to spend perk points on ranking up the skill, as long as you are at the required character level to rank up.
