Find Zevlor

This is a walkthrough for the Find Zevlor sidequest in Baldur's Gate 3. Read on to learn how to unlock the quest, how to rescue Zevlor from the Tadpoling Centre in the Mindflayer Colony, and the rewards you'll get from finishing the quest!

How to Start Find Zevlor

Speak to the Tieflings in Last Light Inn

You can start this quest by speaking with the Tiefling Refugees in the Last Light.

Both Mol and Cerys will mention Zevlor in their dialogue and this is the only way for you to find out about his fate and start the quest.

Head to Moonrise Towers

Go to Moonrise Towers located on the southern section of the map on the southwest path from the Last Light Inn. Once you arrive, Adept Malik will hail you and will need to convince him that you're a True Soul reporting to Moonrise Towers.

How to Get to Moonrise Towers

Free the Pixie from the Moonlantern

Moonrise Towers is located in an area where not even Selûne's Blessing from Isobel can protect you. It's a good idea to obtain the Moonlantern from Kar'niss and free the pixie so that you get full immunity to the Shadow Curse without the need to hold the Moonlantern.

How to Beat Kar'niss

Meet Ketheric Thorm

Head into the center of Moonrise Towers in the throne room area to trigger a cutscene with Ketheric Thorm and a few goblins. Regardless whether you spare or kill the Goblins yourself, Ketheric will invite you to speak with him and you'll have full access to Moonrise Towers.

The cutscene also reveals that Ketheric Thorm is invulnerable and impossible to kill due to a power protecting him. To remove this power, you'll need to find the Nightsong.

Find the Nightsong

Deal with the Nightsong

After progressing through the Gauntlet of Shar, you'll discover that the Nightsong is the source of Ketheric Thorm's invulnerability.

You'll now need to decide whether to kill or spare the Nightsong. Killing the Nightsong removes Ketheric's invulnerability at the cost of killing the residents of Last Light Inn including important characters like Dammon and Art Cullagh who are tied to companion questlines.

Sparing the Nightsong will make the boss fight with Ketheric easier since the Nightsong will fight with you against him. This will also keep the residents of the Last Light Inn alive, allowing you to continue with sidequests tied to the characters there.

Deciding the Nightsong's Fate

Defeat Ketheric Thorm

Return to Moonrise Towers where you'll need to assault the fortress to get to Ketheric Thorm. If you spared the Nightsong, you will find that Jaheira and her Harpers have already cleared the entrance and will help you defeat the remaining forces inside.

Head up the stairs and through the door to engage Ketheric Thorm in battle. If you spared the Nightsong, she will accompany you in battle and can make quick work of Ketheric Thorm.

Once you bring Ketheric Thorm's HP low enough, he wiill flee and open up the way to the Mindflayer Colony.

Enter the Mindflayer Colony

Head to eastern side of the tower and jump down the hole to enter the Mindflayer Colony. Once inside, destroy the membrane to the north to progress through the area.

Head to the Tadpoling Centre

Follow the central path inside and head north to enter the Tadpoling Centre. You'll find Zevlor's pod on the right side of the area near the neural apparatus. Zevlor's pod is also the only pod where you can hear dialogue from, making it easy to spot.

Free Zevlor

The only way to free Zevlor is to interact with the Neural Apparatus north of his pod. However, this also releases 3 Mindflayers in the other pods, as well as aggroing the 5 nearby Intellect Devourers.

Fortunately, Zevlor and fellow prisoner Manip Shuurga will join you in the fight. Once all enemies are defeated, speak to Zevlor to complete the side quest.

Note: It's a good idea to ungroup before activating the neural apparatus and placing your other party members on the opposite side of the area so that they can quickly engage the Mindflayers that will spawn there.

Speak to Zevlor

Once all enemies are defeated, speak to Zevlor to learn more how he got captured. You have several dialogue choices there, but he'll opt to stay to help any remaining prisoners trapped in the Mindflayer Colony.

He'll also tell you that Ketheric Thorm is gathering his forces deeper in the Mindflayer Colony.

Find Zevlor Rewards

No Rewards

There are no rewards to completing the Find Zevlor sidequest. However, defeating all of the Mindflayers and Intellect Devourers when you release Zevlor rewards experience points.
