Send Extra Items Back to Camp

In Baldur's Gate 3, the best way to store items and prevent yourself from getting encumbered is to send items back to Camp. Any items sent to your camp will end up inside the Traveller's Chest which has unlimited space and and weight capacity, allowing you to store almost anything you want in it.

To send an item to your Traveler's Chest, go to your inventory, right click the item, and press Send to Camp. However, be careful about sending too many items back to the Traveller's Chest as it has no search function to filter items unlike your character inventories.
