Best Adamantine Item

Adamantine Splint and Scale Mail Are the Best Choices

Baldur

The Adamantine Splint Armour and Adamantine Scale Mail are the best gear you can forge among all the Adamantine items.

It's best to forge one of each or two of the same pieces of armor depending on your party composition. These armor pieces provide immense survivability to the wearer, reducing all incoming damage by 1 and attackers cannot land critical hits. As if that wasn't enough, melee attackers are sent Reeling, suffering a -1 penalty on attack rolls.

Adamantine Scale Mail and Barbarian Synergy

The Adamantine Scale Mail alleviates the weakness of the Barbarian's Reckless Attack. Reckless Attack also gives attackers Advantage, making it easier for them to land critical hits, which the Adamantine Scale Mail prevents. Consider forging one if your party has a Barbarian.

Consider the Adamantine Shield

If the Adamantine Splint and Scale Mail don't strike your fancy, the Adamantine Shield might be for you. It has the same perks as the Adamantine armors, and the wearer gains Shield Bash as a reaction, which is incredibly useful for characters who use shields.

Use the Adamantine Forge

Baldur

When you have Mithral Ores and your desired moulds, head to the Adamantine Forge. Insert your mould into the mould chamber, and a Mithral Ore into the crucible. Pull the lever to lower the platform, find the lava valve, and prepare for a boss battle with Grym.

Turn the lava valve to begin the encounter against Grym. Once you're done, pull on the lever to forge lever again to bring down the piston and collect your Adamantine item.

Are Adamantine Weapons Worth Forging?

Only If Your Party Does Not Need Armor Upgrades

Baldur

When crafting Adamantine items, your priority should be upgrading armor as they should give you more value for a longer time.

The Adamantine weapons are pretty lackluster, and will be replaced with better weapons later on. Should you decide to make an Adamantine weapon, pick the one where you're proficient with as they are functionally the same.
