Talking to the Dying Mind Flayer

Kill or Resist the Mind Flayer

The dying Mind Flayer is capable of instantly killing you or any of your characters if you interact with it and follow a certain dialogue path.

The best way to deal with the dying Mind Flayer and avoid possible character deaths by it is by killing the dying Mind Flayer before interacting.

If you have already started interacting with Mind Flayer, avoid the intelligence option to concentrate on its thoughts. Resist immediately and choose the dialogue option to close its eyes to kill the Mind Flayer immediately.

Can Be Killed in Any Manner

Ending the Mind Flayer's life outside of interaction is straightforward: simply use an attack skill on it.

Trying to use a healing spell or throwing healing items at the Mind Flayer will cause it to die instead.

Should You Help the Mind Flayer?

Results in Character Deaths

Following the above dialogue options with your main character will cause your character to die and results in a game over.

Having other party members other than your main character follow the above dialogue options will result in all party members dying except your main character. You will also be forced to fight the awakened Mind Flayer.

Saving Yourself After Concentration

If you chose to concentrate on the Mind Flayer's thoughts, there will still be options after in which you can continue to resist the Mind Flayer.

Suceeding in this dice roll will lead to the option of performing one of the following Wisdom Checks. Failure will safely lock you out from the character death path.

Saving Rolls

If you succeed the intelligence dice roll check in the dialogue, it is not too to resist the Mind Flayer.

Succeeding on any of these dialogue option's dice rolls will safely lock you out from the resulting character death.
