Myrnath: How to Free the Intellect Devourer

In Baldur's Gate 3, the Intellect Devourer, Myrnath's brain, can be freed in the Nautiloid by selecting the correct choices and succeeding the checks. How to Free Us

Locate Myrnath

Myrnath can be found in the room next to the one you wake up in. He will be sitting in a chair on a platform in a cathartic state.

Simply interact with his body to begin the side content.

Take The Elevator

The quickest way to reach Myrnath is by taking the elevator platform in the middle of the room.

Alternatively, you could walk to the far side of the room and take the ramp upwards to where Myrnath is sitting.

Freeing Us

Speaking to Myrnath will prompt a conversation with Us, as Myrnath is already in a vegetative state.

Selecting the 2nd option will unlock the above listed dialogue options.

Investigation

When speaking to Us/Myrnath, choosing the Investigation option triggers a dice roll where you attempt to look deeper into the trapped Intellect Devourer's predicament.

・Succeeding this dice roll will unlock a new dialogue option [Medicine].
・ Failing this roll will lock out the [Medicine] dialogue option.

・ Succeeding in this Wisdom roll will lead to freeing Us from Myrnath's body.

Strength

・ Successfully rolling the die results in pulling Us free from Myrnath's skull.
・ Failing the dice roll will lock you out of freeing Us completely.

Dexterity

・ Successfully rolling a 10 or above will result in separating Us from Myrnath.
・ Failing this dice roll will result in getting locked out of freeing Us completely.

Holding Us

Once you've successfully separated Us from Myrnath, you can choose to spare the creature, which will end the dialogue.

Alternatively, you could choose to try rolling [DEXTERITY] in the hopes of making Us more subservient if he ever became a threat.

・ Successfully rolling dexterity will result in Us relaxing in your palms.
・ Failing the roll will result in Us becoming feral. Us will then proceed to leap off the platform and scurry beneath some wreckage.

Should You Free Us?

Temporary Ally

Completing this sidequest will unlock Us as an ally and join you in battle on your journey through the Nautiloid.
