Shoot Down Deviants Being Carried by a Balloon

The Pup Buddy deviant is dropped by deviants getting carried by a balloon which are found in the open world.

They are commonly found at the Blackfell Fallen Zone at (4307, -1323) and Blackfell Oil Fields (5586, -1268) in the Red Sands Region.

Pup Buddy is not a guaranteed drop so it may take you multiple attempts before getting one!

Meet Lowe at Verdant Arena after the Tutorial Area

In Deviation: Survive, Capture, and Preserve scenario,you’ll receive your first starter Deviation by speaking with Lowe in the Verdant Arena during the Deviated Secure main story quest, which unlocks right after the tutorial area with Mitsuko. Lowe will ask you to choose one of three starters: Dr. Teddy, Lethal Rabbit, or Pup Buddy.

How to Get Colored Lighting

Once Human - Colored Lighting
You can obtain the corresponding Circular Lights for your Deviations by building them via the Furniture Menu. These can be unlocked through Basic Furniture II under Building in your Memetics Cradle.

How to Get a Radio for Music

Once Human - Playing Radio
You can obtain the Radio to play music for your Deviations by building them via the Furniture Menu. The Radio can be unlocked through Basic Furniture II under Building in your Memetics Cradle.

How to Get Toys

You can get the Furniture formula for Toys by either spending Starchrom at the Season Shop under the Furniture Formula One section or you can find them through exploration.

Once Human - Place in Securement Unit

To use Pup Buddy, you'll first need to place it in a Securement Unit. Try to fulfill its preferred environment to maximize its Power and Mood.

How to Get and Use Isolated Securement Unit

Collect Small Balloon

Wait for Pup Buddy to produce its signature material, Small Balloon, in its Securement Unit. When you have collected enough materials, you can start crafting Featherweight!

Try to fix up its environment to its preferred one to maximize the output of materials!

Craft Whim Potion: Featherweight

Materials Needed for Featherweight
Featherweight ・Small Balloon x8
・Acid x4
・Glass x3

Featherweight is the Recipe that will become craftable once Pup Buddy has been placed in an Isolated Securement Unit. Even if you remove it from the display, you can still craft Featherweights at your workbench.

Increase Inventory Load Limit

Consuming the Featherweight Whim Potion will decrease the weight of the items in your inventory.

Psi-Skill

Featherweight Parade
Generates a floating balloon above nearby Deviations, putting them in a floating state for 20s. Destroying the balloon prematurely ends the floating state. Consumes 300 Psi Energy.

Psi-Skills are your deviation’s ultimate abilities. They have long cooldowns and can only be used after a short delay. Used right, they can turn the tide of battle!

Techniques

Technique Description
Explosive Self-destructs after staying near the target for 5s, dealing AoE SP.ATK DMG. Has a chance to trigger when HP drops below 50%.
Savage Strike Performs a melee attack, dealing P. ATK DMG
Rush Charges at the target, dealing P. ATK DMG and knocking down the target.
Rite of Strength Sacrifices 10% of current HP to increase P. ATK and SP. ATK DMG for 6s.
Whirlwind Slash Performs a melee attack in a wide area, dealing P. ATK DMG.
Super Flammable Self-destructs after staying near the target for 5s, dealing AoE SP.ATK DMG. Has a chance to trigger when HP drops below 30%.

These are techniques that you can learn through deviation fusions. Some deviations you capture may have these as starting techniques.

Passive

Inflate
Recovers 0.6% HP every 0.5s while out of combat.

A passive is a constant effect that automatically benefits your Deviation without needing to be activated.
